WORKSHOP MUSEUM
THE VALUE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP
Located in a restored early 20th-century mansion in the Yungay neighborhood, this space is dedicated to celebrating ingenuity and manual trades, particularly woodworking. Founded in 2015 through the initiative of Francisco Dittborn, the museum houses a collection of over 700 antique woodworking tools, organized to illustrate the various stages of the craft.
The museography aims to create an immersive experience by recreating an early 20th-century workshop where visitors can appreciate the tools in their original context. The restoration respected the mansion’s original eclectic architecture, preserving elements such as neoclassical ornaments, wood decoration, and stained glass windows.
The museum offers guided tours and practical woodworking workshops for all ages. Its goal is to rescue and reinterpret the heritage of craftsmanship, fostering creativity and a connection to making.
