COUSIÑO PALACE
A TESTIMONY OF ARISTOCRACY
Erected between 1870 and 1878, it embodies the opulence of the Belle Époque in Santiago’s former aristocratic neighborhood. The neoclassical design by Paul Lathoud, with strong French influences, unfolds in a main two-story building with 27 rooms, complemented by two smaller structures for the staff.
The palace’s interior once housed lavish music rooms, tea rooms, game and dance halls, as well as an art gallery and two dining rooms, reflecting the lifestyle of the wealthy Cousiño family. The upper floor was reserved for bedrooms and family spaces.
Integrated into an urban fabric of elegant mansions and now transformed into a museum, Cousiño Palace creates a historical and cultural link between Paseo Bulnes and Parque O’Higgins. Guided tours allow the public to immerse themselves in the city’s aristocratic past through its rooms and collections.
