ALCÁNTARA HOUSING COMPLEX
A NEW APPROACH TO HOUSING
This residential project by Cristián Izquierdo Lehmann redefines collective housing with eight homes arranged around a central pedestrian walkway, encouraging a sense of community. Its contemporary architecture is defined by the honesty of its materials: exposed concrete, wood, and steel, which bring warmth and solidity to the complex.
The L-shaped floor plans open onto private courtyards, blurring the line between public and intimate spaces. The design seeks an austere, timeless beauty.
Inserted into the urban fabric of Las Condes, this complex, inaugurated in 2019, offers an alternative to single-family housing, promoting neighborly interaction and a new model of collective living in a central area of Santiago. The exposed materiality highlights the quality and durability of the project.
